CACTI/EUPHORBIA

Light: Cacti/Euphorbia thrive best with a good light source. Caution not to place in direct sunlight as this can burn the plant.

Water: The most important rule for cacti/euphorbia is to let it dry out almost completely between watering's. During the growing season water once a week if the plant is receiving the right amount of heat. In the winter be sure to allow the soil to almost dry before watering again. These plants can tolerate long periods of drought because they store water. Think Desert!

Soil: Cacti/euphorbia need a well draining soil mixture as they do not like wet feet. Cacti hold water in their trunks or leaves for drought periods.

Fertilizing: Fertilizing cacti/euphorbia is best done once in spring, once in summer and once in the fall for optimal growth! Dilute any houseplant fertilizer to half for best results.

Temperature: During the growing season cacti prefer temperatures between 70°F and 95°F++. In the winter dormant season they will tolerate temperatures around the 40°F to 55°F range.

Humidity: Ideal humidity for cacti/euphorbia ranges from 40% to 60%. However, cacti can tolerate less than 40% humidity.

Pet Friendly(Toxic): Cacti & euphorbia are toxic if ingested. Will cause irritation to the mouth and stomach and can cause vomiting. Keep away from pets and children as these plants can also cause other harm. Some Cacti & Euphorbia are extremely toxic, have a white milky substance that can cause blindness and other severe irritations.

Air Purifying: Don’t all plants?!?

Growth Pattern: Cacti/Euphorbia are very slow growers. Given the absolute ideal growing conditions cacti can grow a bit faster with some varieties taking more time than others. These plants come in all sorts of shapes and sizes!!
